The Peace and Justice committee of St. Mary’s Academy received the Volunteering For All Award on 13 May, 2019.
The group works together on various projects to build a deeper awareness of social justice issues within their local community.
Students surveyed over 390 members of their peer group within the school to learn about their efforts in volunteerism and to learn about school diversity, and created their Volunteering For All Charter. The VFA Charter highlights the students rights and responsibilities as volunteers.
The school was ecstatic with receiving the Award as it highlighted the values and the ethos of the school.
